A safe home first. A future after that.

Nest Invest is a housing partner for young people in Ghent. Many of them leave special youth care at eighteen with nowhere stable to go. Nest gives them their own key for one to three years, with tailored support from partner organisations, so they can finish school, find work and stand on their own feet. The principle is simple: first a roof over your head, then everything else.

Two entities make it work. Nest Woonrecht VZW rents homes and works with owners and young people. Nest Impact Invest BV raises capital and buys property. Behind both sits a team of 1.8 FTE.

The mission is warm and the results are real. But nobody had the time to tell that story to the companies and investors who could help it grow. That is where Nimble Forward came in.

Opportunity

Nest Invest’s perspective

  • Growth is limited by money and by people: capital to buy homes, and sponsorship to keep the support running.
  • A matching subsidy depends on raising new capital before the end of the year.
  • The brand felt cold for such a warm mission, and there was no time to change that.
  • They asked for two things: a way to approach companies with a sponsorship model, and an impact tool that turns results into updates for sponsors and investors.

The sector’s perspective

  • Small social housing initiatives compete for the same CSR budgets as large, well-known charities.
  • Companies want proof, not pity. Impact is often told as a feeling instead of measured outcomes.
  • Sponsoring, gifts and capital investment are easily mixed up, which slows down the first conversation.
  • Digital craft and AI tooling rarely reach organisations with two people and no marketing budget.

What we are building

One story, told well, to the people who can open the next door.

Six pieces, built during and right after a 75-minute working session at our studio. Meeting notes and transcripts went in, working tools came out.

01 · A warmer brand

“Een eigen sleutel. Ruimte voor morgen.”

A strategic brand guide built around one idea: a home makes a future possible. It keeps the existing signature op eigen benen and adds a calmer palette, a serif voice and a painted illustration style that feels like Ghent.

  • Brand idea, promise, tone of voice and audiences
  • Nine logo explorations toward an “open nest”
  • A theory of change and honest measurement rules

02 · A website for partners

From a cause to a clear conversation.

A website written for the people who decide on CSR budgets. Every page answers one question: what does my organisation make possible? Sponsoring, gifts and capital each get their own route, so the first call starts in the right place.

Concept site for review with Nest Invest. Not yet the official campaign.

03 · Impact studio

Make progress visible. With room for nuance.

A small registration flow for the team and a dashboard for partners. It separates what is measured from what is still unknown, and never fills a gap with a guess.

  • Housing outcome at exit, education and work
  • Follow-up at 3, 6 and 12 months, empty until measured
  • A one-click sponsor update in plain language

Working local prototype. No shared database yet.

04 · Contribution calculator

“How much room do you give to someone’s own future?”

Partners move a slider and see what their yearly contribution makes possible: full support trajectories, shared partner updates and the share of the operating budget it covers. Every figure is labelled as a scenario, not a promise.

05 · Fund studio

Two money flows. Two clear asks.

Sponsoring the operation through the VZW and investing in housing through the BV are modelled side by side, with their own pipeline, assumptions and expected timing. It also tracks around thirty warm introductions and the people who can make them.

06 · Partner studio and outreach

From the right organisation to a good first conversation.

An AI-assisted outreach tool that scores fit, researches public sources and drafts a personal first message and follow-ups. It only ever prepares drafts. A person at Nest Invest decides what gets sent, and to whom.

  • Scenario-weighted pipeline against a twelve-month goal
  • Source research and draft e-mails, never auto-sent
  • Packaged as a reusable skill the team can run themselves

Shown in demo mode. Organisations and amounts on screen are fictional examples.

What we deliberately leave out

Not a fundraising agency.

Nimble does not raise the money, and nobody on this page promises an amount. Our job is to remove the friction around the ask: a story that lands, tools that save the team hours, and proof that holds up when a CFO asks a second question.

The other boundary is honesty. No fictional quotes, no rounded-up impact, no forecasts dressed up as commitments. Where data is missing, the tools say so. Trust is the only currency a small organisation cannot afford to lose.

The proof we help them tell

Seventeen finished trajectories. Nobody left homeless.

41
young people started a trajectory with Nest
16/17
moved on to their own or a social home (11 private rent, 5 social housing)
0/17
homeless at exit, against 11 of 41 at intake
7/17
at work when they left, 3 in education

What we learned so far

5 things this partnership taught us.

01

The blocker is time, not intent.

A team of 1.8 FTE runs the homes, the support and the fundraising. The story was never the problem. Having an afternoon to tell it was. Every tool we built had to give hours back, not ask for them.

02

Two entities need two asks.

Sponsoring a VZW and investing in a BV are different conversations, with different people and different paperwork. Separating them early made every page, number and e-mail clearer.

03

Proof beats pity.

“Zero of seventeen homeless at exit” does more in a boardroom than any photo of a sad face. Measured outcomes, with their limits stated, turned the conversation from charity to partnership.

04

Honesty is a feature.

Demo modes are labelled, fictional examples are called fictional and forecasts are called scenarios. For a small organisation, one inflated claim costs more than it ever raises.

05

Build in the meeting.

Instead of a brief, a proposal and a kick-off, the first versions were built while we talked. Seeing a working page changes what people ask for. The same AI-native loop we use for our partners, pointed at a cause.

Where we are

What’s next?

The concept is in review with the Nest Invest team. Next comes the real test: the first warm introductions, the first conversations and the first partner who says yes. We will share what happens here, including what does not work.
